5 Star Tuck-Pointing: Iowa

We often reach into our database of homeowners who have had a 5 Star experience with one (or several) of our contractors, and we ask them to help us to help others with similar projects.

Our story today comes out of Iowa. Otis B was in need of sometuck-pointing and some brick replacement, and Nedi Masonry Repair did an unbelievable job on this home.

Now Otis isn’t very verbose, so we’re going to get right to the point with this one, but the pictures are pretty incredible.

Project Description
I was having them tuck point the entire house.

Any advice on finding and hiring a contractor?
Use ServiceMagic and check the references. Just ask the contractor for references. A good contractor will have those ready.

3. What did this cost and how long did it take?
2.5 Weeks, including clean-up and site prep 3 weeks. Cost was $40,000. Nedi provided the best suggestions. For my tuck pointing project Nedi was extremely resourceful and used brick from places that weren’t visible for tougher spots.

Anything you would have done differently?
No.

Any advice about creating a good working relationship with your contractor?
Just maintain communication. I have a military background, 25 years in the army and I have a plethora of experience in the construction industry. I consider myself an expert in communication, so if you’re not sure how to communicate with contractors, learn.

Thanks to Otis B for the terse project information, and to Nedi Masonry Repair for their top quality work.
