A Tiling Tip & Life Lesson From Your High School Coaches

You remember the ones. They taught history and health, and they pronounced Iroquois, Ear-ROCK-oh-WEEZE, like it was a fight song. But they did have moments of wisdom, like: Practice makes permanent.

Now that the weather is warming, you are likely about to start a do-it-yourself project. But you need to learn the lessons taught in P.E. by those dudes in the too short shorts (the horror) and the too pulled-up socks, and do some practicing first before the big game.

If you’re going to try to tile, and many of you out there are going to try, buy a cheap table at a garage sale and practice on that first. You’ll have to stare at your mistakes for a long time, so hone your skills first before we bring out the marching band and the pom squad.

A Word from Coach Combs: “If you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

I am so glad to be done with high school.
