Is your outdated kitchen starting to grate on your nerves? Are you miserable because you know that renovating your kitchen is way out of your budget right now? Don’t despair! Here are three simple ways to give your kitchen a modernized look without breaking the bank.
1: Paint- did you know that countertops can be painted over? Rust-Oleum sells a kit which is relatively cheap (compared to new counters, about $250) and gives you all the supplies you need for the project, including an instructional DVD. It’s not easy sanding, smoothing, cleaning and painting but the results are worth it. Fresh countertops will significantly uplift the look of your kitchen.
2: Kitchen Faucet- a new faucet for your kitchen sink is a great way to renew your kitchens style. Most faucets are easy to install and because they protrude they are very visible and therefore make a noticeable impact.
3: Accessorize- an important rule to remember when decorating any room is “don’t work with what you don’t like, just ignore it”. For example if your appliances are avocado green and you hate it but don’t have the money to replace them then just ignore them and perk up our room in other ways. Don’t try to coordinate the avocado green with anything. Use other bright colors which will pull your eye away from the nasty green color.
You can accessorize you kitchen in many ways with dishtowels, curtains and decorative bowls. There are so many different ideas you can experiment with.
Try out these simple tips and come up with some of your own. Have fun modernizing your kitchen!
