How to Keep your Bathroom Organized

Whether big or small all bathrooms have one thing in common: there is never enough storage space. Once you are done with the requisites; toilet, sink, bathtub and shower, there is precious little space left for everything else. Throw in a few people sharing one bathroom and you are in for a disaster!

What you need is a plan of action. Start by taking inventory of the available space and what you have that needs to fit in it. Sort through all your toiletries and decide what you really need. A good rule to follow is: if you haven’t used something in a year it’s for the trash! I follow this rule religiously and so far I have never regretted giving away or throwing out anything.

Another smart idea is to store items by how often they are used. The things that are used every day keep most accessible. Stuff that is seldom used keep toward the back of the drawers. Seasonal items, such as sunscreen and bug spray, store in airtight containers on the top shelves, or the hardest to reach spaces, to be retrieved when needed.

If you have a bathroom vanity with ample drawer space it can be a real life saver. If it’s just you using the bathroom than organize the drawers however works for you but if your sharing your bathroom it works better to split up the drawer and cabinet space and let each person organize their own.

Whichever ways you choose to organize remember that there is almost nothing as enjoyable as a well structured room. The bathroom is typically where you start and end your day so it’s a pretty important place. Good luck organizing!
