For the second floor of the HGTV Green Home we will give you a photo tour of the loft, kid’s bedrooms and master bedroom. If you haven’t visited the first floor, there are links at the bottom of this post so you don’t miss out!
Loft

Nine windows illuminate the loft and provide views to the Rocky Mountains and the old Stapleton Airport. All of the windows in the home prevent penetration of UV rays and they also decrease the transfer of heat, lowering heating and cooling needs.
Features of the Loft include:
- Maple and iron staircase
- Area rug woven from recyclable nylon
- Armchair constructed from pieces of Brazilian Pinus wood
- Large beetle-kill pine door separates the loft from the master suite
- Handwoven silk pillows & sweater-knit and linen pillows

Girl’s Room

This room could not get any more pink, and some lucky girl out there is going to love the boldness of this room! To contrast the pink theme, the drapes are linen and the headboards are custom-made and covered with linen.
Features of the Girl’s Room include:
- Organic cotton pom-pom blankets and quilted duvets
- Polished-aluminum side table
- Hand-beaded, silver and shell mosaic trinket boxes
- Oversized wing chair upholstered in sustainable fabric

Boy’s Room

With striped wood flooring and a paper mache elephant, the Boy’s Room is a wonderful, masculine contrast from the Girl’s Room. In the Girl’s and Boy’s Room you will notice adult furniture, which the designers recommend – “If a young girl is in there, she’ll be in there for maybe 10 years,” said Linda Woodrum, interior designer, on the HGTV website. “Don’t buy children’s furniture.”
Features of the Boy’s Room include:
- Toys created from 100-percent recycled plastic milk containers
- Pillow fashioned from 100-percent recycled plastic PET containers
- Standard-size bed crafted from old doors
- Elephant head made from recycled cement bags and vintage book paper
- Table lamp detailed with rivets and an oil-rubbed finish
- Framing on the mirror is made from recycled pieces of tin

Master Bedroom

The Master Bedroom, or “Master Suite” as HGTV calls it, feels very warm and cozy. The headboard and bedding reflect nature, and the oriental reading chair brings a zen-like feeling to this room. If you want to relax and get away from the noise of life, this is the place to go!
Features of the Master Bedroom include:
- Organic bedding
- Private hallway with office nook
- Carbon-steel side table
- Heavy-duty scaffolding table
- Reclaimed wood turned into artwork
- Asian-style rattan chair

What do think of the second floor of the HGTV Green Home? Would you enjoy relaxing in the master bedroom?
Nice site. I am interested in seeing what you have for people like myself,
single, female, home-owner, who believes in taking care of her appliances
and vehicles through regular maintenance at home. If people want their appliances to perform well, and have a factory predicted lifecycle – it is
my belief that we must do regular maintenance and seek out suggestions
from the professionals to extend the life and performance of our home/vehicles.
Thanks for providing information for those who are not in the position to ask
a skilled father or mate. Plus, I enjoy knowing my equipment is not only clean; but
I have taken care of the usually neglected items that would improve the performance of my appliances and extend their lifecycle. Thanks for your advice!
